The writer of the poems is Greet Jonk-Commandeur, born in Amstelveen on July 6, 1927.
Her first collection of poems was published in 1980: "zachter wordt het licht". The first edition of this book was sold out in a short period of time.
Later, the following collections were published:
1981: mijn groene polderland
1983: bloemen voor alle dag
1990: het land van jou en mij
1992: circus trammelant (poems for children)
1995: als twee vogels
2000: zoete geuren van herinneringen
2002: zomaar een dag
2005: tuin van geluk
2007 kinderdromen (poems for children).
All 12 poetry books were published by the Nic Jonk Museum and Sculpture Garden.
In 1987, Greet Jonk-Commandeur was awarded third prize in a prose and poetry contest in honour of the 100 year anniversary of the Dutch Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
In addition, Greet’s poems appear in art books and art calendars by her husband Nic Jonk.
Famous performers such as Marcel de Groot, Willeke Alberti and Jelle Koolstra also use Greet’s poems in their music.
